LunaHost runs Minecraft servers on machines in Victoria, and players connect through Sydney. Prices are in Australian dollars, and when you need help you talk to a real person on Discord.
Everything you do in Minecraft has to reach the server and come back. A hit, a placed block or a door opening all wait for that trip, so a server on the other side of the world feels slow however fast your internet is.
We measured the trip from our Sydney server to big data centres in other places:
These are times between data centres, so they are not the ping you will see. Your own internet adds to them. They do show how much time distance alone costs before anything else happens.
Every server is run from Luna Panel, in your browser:

LunaHost suits groups of friends, small communities and modded worlds. The machines are on a home internet connection rather than in a data centre. That keeps prices down, and it also means we can't promise perfect uptime. If something goes down, we say so on Discord.
If you are running a big public server with a crowd online all day, a data centre host is a better fit.
Whoever you go with, these are worth asking before you pay:
Yes. Your server runs on machines in Victoria, and players connect through our server in Sydney.
Yes. Players in North America connect through our server in Los Angeles using the same address, which gives them a better route across the Pacific on a lunahost.uk address. The game still runs in Australia, so they will have more lag than Australian players. Everyone else connects through Sydney.
Both. You can buy a Java server or a Bedrock server. Paper and Purpur Java servers can also let in Bedrock players on phones, tablets and Windows with one switch in the panel.
Yes. Upload a zip, rar, 7z or tar.gz of up to 10 GB when you set up a Java server, or later from the Backups tab.
Yes, from your account page. Your server keeps running until the end of the month you have paid for.
